Introduction

The explanation of policy coverage provided in this help section is only meant as a guide. Please contact our office if you would like a full description of the policy coverage and or a copy of the specific endorsement form or an Ontario Automobile Policy wording. Please feel free to contact our office with regards to any further questions or concerns you may have.

Starting Your New Quote

In order to start your first (or new) quote, click on the "Click to Proceed" button or press your "Enter" key. This will begin your 3 Step process. 1) Personal information, 2) Vehicle information, and 3) Policy Information. Just fill in the required information and advance to the next stage by clicking on the "Click to Procced" button.

Note: DO NOT use the "Forward" button on your browser at any stage during this process. You may use the browsers "Back" button to go back to make a change. However, if you do this you still need to use the "Click to Proceed" or Enter Key to advance.

Retrieving an Existing Quote

Enter the Quote Number and Password you received with your previous quotation. Then click on the "Click to Proceed" button or press your "Enter" key to advance to the first step.

You will proceed through all stages as if doing a new quote, however the information provided in the previous quote will be displayed. You may change/correct anything you wish or "Click to Proceed" to the next step.

Step 1 - Personal Information

Title

Select a title such as Mr., Mrs., Dr., etc.

First Name

Insert your first name as shown on your driver's licence.

Last Name

Insert your last name as shown on your driver's licence.

Date of Birth

Insert your month of birth (2) digits followed by/, than enter your day of birth (2) digits followed by a /, than enter your year of birth (4) digits.

Retired: (Retiree Discount) - Click on this area if you qualify.

THE PRINCIPAL OPERATOR MUST:
A) Be retired and not earn or receive income from any office or employment; and not be engaged in any professional occupation; and not be operating a business ; and not have been employed for 26 weeks in the last 52 weeks;
B) Be age 65 or older; or be in receipt of a pension under the Canada pension plan or the Quebec pension plan; or be in receipt of a pension registered under the income tax act, Canada.

Step 2 - Vehicle Information

Manufacturer

Enter your vehicles manufacturer e.g. Ford, Chrysler, G.M.C.

Model

Enter the model of your vehicle such as e.g. 2 Door sedan, Voyager SE, etc.

Year

Enter year that the model of your vehicle was manufactured.

Hybrid Vehicle

A Hybrid vehicle is a vehicle that contains a gasoline engine and an electric motor for power with the two hybrid power sources stored on board the vehicle and must be identified as such by the manufacturer. A 5% discount will applied on the coverages

Insuring other vehicles with us

If you are getting a quote on more than one automobile click here and a multi vehicle discount will be applied.

Insuring both Automobile and Property with same insurance compay

If you are getting both automobile and property quotaton with the same insurance company, a multi line discount will be applied. A PAC (Property and Auto Combined) discount will replace the multi line discount if both policies have same effective date.

Car Usage

Pleasure Use: The use of your vehicle for purposes not classified as business or commute. For vehicles used over 16,000. K.M. per year please choose for work and pleasure less than 24 K.M. this will allow for unlimited annual k.m.
If the vehicle's annual kilometers driven is 8,000 kilometers or less, a low milleage discount will be applied
Commuting:

The operation of an automobile to drive to and from work or school. This includes automobiles used in car pools and other share-the-ride arrangements. Commuting also includes driving part of the way to work such as to a rail road or bus depot.

Business Use: The operation of your automobile in connection with your occupation, other than commuting. This does not include vehicles used for delivery.

Length of Policy

You have the option of choosing a 1-year, 2-years or 6-month term.

Liability Limit

You have the ability to choose up to $2,000,000. You must contact our office if higher limits are required. Liability provides coverage for you or other insured persons if someone else is killed or injured or their property is damaged in an automobile incident. It will pay for legitimate claims against you or other insured persons up to the limit of your coverage, and the cost of settling the claim.

Years Licensed & Years License Class

Please indicate your current licence class and the number of year's you have held that licence class.

If princepal operator licensed 20 years or more, a driving experience discount will be applied.

At Fault Accidents

Means an occurrence resulting in bodily injury, property damage or collision damage, arising out of the ownership, use or operation of an automobile for which your insurance company at the time of loss has found you to be liable or partially liable, regardless of the amount paid. This does not include claims where no collision has occurred or your have found to be not liable by the insurance company. e.g. windshield, vandalism, fire, theft.(please indicate these claims under the section we have marked as not at fault accidents.

Not At Fault Accidents

Claims other than noted in at fault accidents (see above) e.g. claims for which your insurance company found you to be 0% liable or comprehensive type losses: e.g. windshield, vandalism, fire, theft.

How many years since the latest at fault accident?

Indicate the number of full years since your last at fault accident. (see at fault accident for more detailed explanation of at fault accident.)

Driving Convictions

If principal driver and regular and frequent operators who have been conviction free for the past 3 years, a conviction free discount will be applied

Minor

An example of a Minor ticket would be: Seatbelt, Speeding Under 50 K.M./Hour, Unsafe Move, Disobey Legal Signs, Drive Wrong Way On One Way Street, Fail To Present Insurance Card Or Licence. Fail To Signal, Failing To Yield, Unnecessary Noise, Illegal or Unsafe U-Turn, View Obstructed. This is only a brief example if you are unsure please contacts our office for clarification.

Major

An Example Of A Major Ticket Would Be: Defective Or Unsafe Vehicle, Drive Unsafe Vehicle, Drive Contrary To Licence Conditions, Fail To Report An Accident, Fail To Stop For School Bus, Failure To Identify Oneself At Accident Scene, Improper Passing/Speeding In A School Or Playground Zone, Speed More Than 50 K.M./Hour, Suspension Of Unpaid Fine. This is only a brief example if you are unsure please contacts our office for clarification.

Serious

Criminal Negligence Causing Death, Criminal Negligence Operating A Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Driving, Drive With Alcohol In Blood( G1 Or G2 Licence), Drunk Driving, Failure To Remain At The Scene Of An Accident, Making A False Statement ..., Racing, Refuse Breath Or Blood Sample, Suspension Of Drivers Licence Other Than Unpaid Find Or Medical Condition. This is only a brief example if you are unsure please contacts our office for clarification.

Collision/Upset Deductable

Covers damage when a described automobile is involved in collision with another object or tips over. Various deductible amounts are available, higher deductibles may reduce your premium. (The deductible amount is either paid by you or deducted from the cost of repairs).

Comprehensive Deductble

Covers a described automobile against loss or damage other than those covered by collision or upset, including perils listed under specified perils, falling or flying object, missiles or vandalism. Various deductible amounts are available, higher deductibles may reduce your premium. (The deductible amount is either paid by you or deducted from the cost of repairs).

Specified Peril Deductble

Covers the described automobile against certain specified perils. They are fire, theft or attempted theft, lightning, windstorm, hail or rising water, earthquake; explosion; riot or civil disturbance; falling or forced landing of aircraft or parts of aircraft, or the stranding, sinking, burning, derailment or collision of any kind of transport in, or upon which the described automobile is being transported. Various deductible amounts are available, higher deductibles may reduce your premium. (The deductible amount is either paid by you or deducted from the cost of repairs).

* Note: All Perils combines the collision or upset and comprehensive coverages. We will automatically quote this coverage when collision and comprehensive coverage are purchased with the same deductible.

Optional Accident Benefits

Accident benefits coverage: provides benefits that you and other insured persons are entitled to receive if injured or killed in an automobile accident. These benefits include; income replacement for persons who have lost income; payments to non earners who suffer complete inability to carry on a normal life; payment of care expenses to persons who cannot continue to act as a primary caregiver for a member of their household; payment of medical; rehabilitation an attendant care expenses; payment of certain other expenses; payment of funeral expenses; and payments to survivors of a person who is killed. You may also purchase optional benefits to increase the basic level of benefits provided in your policy. Your optional benefits are as listed below.

Increased Income Replacement

The basic level of income replacement provided in the policy ($400 per week maximum) can be increased by purchasing optional coverage so that the weekly limit is up to $600, $800. Or $1,000. All income replacement benefits are based on 80% or your net weekly income. Increased Caregiver and Dependant Care

Increcreased Caregiver & Dependant Care

The basic level of caregiver benefits for care expenses of persons who are not employed but care for dependants (up to $250 per week for first person needing care, and $50 per week for every additional person) can be increased by purchasing optional coverage so that the weekly limit is up to $325 for the first person and $75 for additional persons. There is no basic benefit for persons who are employed and care for dependants, but if you purchase this optional coverage you can receive a benefit to cover additional weekly dependant care expenses of $75 for the first dependant, and $25 for each additional dependant, up to $150 per week.

Increcreased Medical & Rehabilitation and Attendant Care

The basic benefit pays up to $100,000 for medical and rehabilitation expenses, with a 10 year time limit in most cases, and up to $72,000 for attendant care expenses. If catastrophically impaired, the basic benefit pays up to $1,000,000 for medical and rehabilitation expanses and up to $1,000,000 for attendant care expenses. You can purchase optional coverage of 1,000,000 above the basic coverage, and that provides no limitation on the time for which these expanses are paid.

Increcreases Death & Funeral

The basic level of death benefits paid to the surviving spouse and dependant of a person who is killed ($25,000 to surviving spouse: $10,000 to surviving dependant;) can be doubled by purchasing this optional coverage. This coverage also increases the basic funeral expanse benefit from $6,000 to $8,000.

Indexation Benefit

This optional coverage will ensure that certain weekly benefits payments and monetary limits will increase on an annual basis to reflect changes in the cost of living.

O.E.F. #20 - Coverage for Transportation Replacement

Provides reimbursement for the cost of alternative means of transportation( including charges for a rental vehicle and fares for taxicubs or public transit) after a loss insured under Collision, Comprehensive, All Perils, Specified Perils.

O.E.F. #27 - Liability for Damage to Non-owned Automobiles

Provides Coverage when you are driving a non-owned automobile and you agreed to be responsible for the damages or responsible by law, or such vehicle is in you care custody and control.

* Extends All Perils, Collision, Comprehensive or Specified Perils coverage from your policy when you rent a vehicle within the Policy Territorial limits, up to a limit of $35,000, and for a duration of not more than 30 days.

O.E.F. #35 - Coverage for Emergency Road Service

Provides coverage to reimburse the Insured for towing and emergency service expense necessitated by each disablement of the vehicle. Maximum coverage $50 any one occurrence.

O.E.F. #43 - Removing Depreciation Deduction

This endorsement waives the application of "Actual Cash Value" provision. Indemnity is limited to the list price at the time of purchase, the actual price to you or the cost of a new vehicle of the same make and model, which ever is the lessor. This coverage is only available for brand new vehicles for which you are the original owner or demonstrator vehicles with less than 5,000. K.M. The coverage must be requested within 3 months of the purchase or lease and only vehicles with the current or previous model year qualify. This coverage automatically lapses at the end of the policy term following 24 months after the delivery of the automobile to you.

 

Physical Damage Extensions

This endorsement includes the following three extensions of coverage:
1. When the automobile is declared a total loss caused by an insured peril Direct Compensation and/or

Included OPCFs 20, 27, 35 and 43 or 43A 20, 27 and 35 20, 35 and 43 or 43A 20 and 35
Eligible Risk Types Private Passenger Vehicles, Motor Homes and Commercial Use Vehicles.
Restrictions
Not available for class 07, 17 or commercially rated vehicles. Underwriting rules for PDE A are identical to those which apply to the underlying endorsement coverages.
Not available for class 07, 17 or commercially rated vehicles. Underwriting rules for PDE B are identical to those which apply to the underlying endorsement coverages.
Underwriting rules for PDE C are identical to those which apply to the underlying endorsement coverages.
Underwriting rules for PDE D are identical to those which apply to the underlying endorsement coverages.

Plus $1000

This endorsement includes the following three extensions of coverage:
1. When the automobile is declared a total loss caused by an insured peril Direct Compensation and/or Physical Damage, coverage, insurer agrees to pay the actual cash value of the automobile plus an additional $1,000.
2. When the automobile is declared a total loss caused by an insured peril, insurer agrees to waive the deductible up to a maximum of $1,000
3. To assist the insured in the event of an emergency breakdown with their vehicle, insurer is including Roadside Assistance coverage. This coverage provides such services as battery boosting, towing due to mechanical failure, installation of a spare tire, fuel delivery, lockout assistance up to $40 and extraction of a stuck vehicle. The maximum amount payable for roadside assistance expenses insurance is $50. The maximum of service calls is 3 per policy year. 1 service call per 6 month policy term, 3 service calls per 12 month policy term and 6 service calls on 24 month policy term.

Accident protection Program

This endorsement protects your Star rating level from pentalty for at-fault accidents

In consideration of the premium paid for this endorsement, we agree that the Insured's current 7*/8*/9*/10* driving record will not be negatively impacted on subsequent policy terms, due to their first at fault accident.

If a second at-fault accident occurs within 6 years of the first at-fault accident, the policy will not be subject to the non-renewal criteria of 2 at-fault accidents in the preceding 6 years. Instead, the policy will be retained with the vehicle rated as 2*.

Special Conditions
o Only private passenger vehicles rated 7*/8*/9*/10* are eligible for this protection.
o The risk meets all other 7*/8*/9*/10* criteria.
o No at-fault losses in the past 6 years.
o This protection applies only to those vehicles on the Certificate of Automobile Insurance where this endorsement is shown to apply. The endorsement must be purchased separately for each such vehicle.
o This protection does not apply if the Insured is convicted of a criminal code offence in relation to an at-fault accident.
o The Insured must continue to purchase the endorsement on an annual basis following an at-fault accident, in order to preserve the protected driving record. Otherwise, the driving record will revert to that which would have applied in the absence of this endorsement.

Premium $45 per vehicle.
